We are seeking a skilled and proactive Technical Project Manager – Embedded Systems to lead the planning and execution of complex embedded development projects. This role blends technical understanding with project leadership to ensure successful coordination across firmware, hardware, and QA teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical insight, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of embedded systems projects, from initial planning to final delivery
- Collaborate with engineering leads to define technical requirements, resource plans, and development milestones
- Coordinate daily operations and timelines across firmware, hardware, and testing teams
- Monitor project risks, budgets, schedules, and performance metrics, ensuring alignment with project goals
- Serve as the key liaison between internal teams and clients, providing regular updates and managing expectations
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Ensure documentation, compliance, and quality assurance at every phase of the project lifecycle
- Drive resolution of technical and process-related blockers by engaging appropriate stakeholders
- Continuously assess opportunities to improve project delivery methods and team efficiency
Required Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of embedded development lifecycles, microcontrollers, RTOS, and hardware-software integration
- Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional engineering teams and client-facing projects
- Proficient in project management tools such as Jira, Trello, and MS Project, with a strong grasp of Agile methodologies
- Exceptional leadership, analytical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to oversee and supervise the overall project roadmap
- Skilled in identifying and reporting potential risks including scope creep, resource constraints, staffing shortfalls, and schedule or release delays
- Strong coordination and communication skills to effectively collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and development teams
- Competent in conducting data analysis to extract insights and support Engineering Managers in decision-making
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives across key technical domains including Software, Hardware, Product, and QA
- Hands-on experience with C++ and Linux environments
- Solid understanding of operating systems, media processing, and system architecture
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, Scrum Master, or similar project management certification
- Familiarity with standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, or similar compliance frameworks
- Experience with IoT systems, automotive electronics, or industrial embedded solutions
- Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and embedded debugging tools
Experience: 5+ years of experience in embedded systems development (firmware/hardware), with at least 2 years in a technical project management role
Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
