As Finance Assistant at our growing company, you’ll play a key role supporting our financial operations from budgeting to billing.
Responsibilities:
- You’ll work closely with others on the team as well as external vendors, so strong written/verbal proficiency is needed.
- Being able to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently is also crucial in this role.
- Type of fast-paced environment where you can put your finance talents to good use.
- Process accounts payable and receivable activities like invoice payments, refunds, bank deposits, etc.
- Handle all payroll functions including running payroll, making tax deposits, and filing quarterly/annual returns.
- Monitor cash flow by tracking incoming/outgoing money and identifying trends
- Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions in accounting software
- Assist with annual budget preparation by compiling data and proposing forecasts
- Generate regular financial reports like income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, etc.
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and vendors on financial requests and projects
- Ensure timely payment of bills and accurate invoicing of clients
- Continually update knowledge of accounting/finance best practices and regulations
- Organize and maintain files of important financial records and documentation
- Perform additional duties as assigned like projects, research, inventory counts etc.
- Serve as the right-hand for daily financial queries, issues, and problem-solving support
Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of standard accounting/bookkeeping principles
- Proficiency with accounting software like QuickBooks, Xero, Sage 50, etc.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting
- Expertise in analyzing financial data and generating reports
- Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem-solving aptitude to interpret financial reports
- Adaptability to learn new systems and take on various tasks easily
- Confidentiality and high ethical standards in handling financial information
- A team player attitude and enjoyment of collaboration
- Effective time management abilities and organizational skills
- Background check completion for roles involving financial transactions
Experience: Having previous experience of 1-2 years in an AP/AR or bookkeeping role is a big plus.
Qualification: A degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required.
